Butcher robot (12lb) was the team’s first project in the Hobbyweight category, created in 2007. The idea that gained more notoriety was to build a tube shaped Spinner with some side teeth that amplify the damage on the opponent robots
The robot tube was initially designed in a totally cylindrical shape, but with the course of the project the initial shape gained some curves and bumps, making it more compact.
The use of Butcher’s motor in the movement of the weapon, was an innovation compared to other robots in the same category. The Butcher’s motor was an innovation in relation to other robots in the same category, taking it to 2nd place in Winter Challenge 2009 and ENECA 2007.
