Inspired by the robot Kippa (Beetleweight) and with the objective of building a fully reversible robot, robot Macarena was designed in 2014 to compete in the Beetleweight category.

In order to make its reversibility possible, wheels with a diameter of 50 mm were used, being possible to drive when it was inverted.

The weapon is composed of two vertical SAE 4340 steel weapon inspired by the robot Kippa own weapon, but a central O-Ring transmission was chosen. The motors used in the weapon is a Brushless RIMFIRE. Pololu motors with built-in gear box were used for drive.

Its name is due to its designer, who was called Macarena by the team members. It was retired after the Winter Challenge of 2016, so that it could give more space for new projects and ideas.
